Docs/Booking features

Booking emails and SMS reminders

Booker can email a confirmation and a reminder to your customer, tell you about new bookings, and text a reminder using your own Twilio account. Emails are on Starter and up; texts are on Pro.

Emails

Under Settings, turn on any of three: a confirmation when someone books, a reminder before the booking, and a note to you whenever a booking comes in. You choose how many hours before the booking the reminder goes out. Reminders are checked once a day, so 24 hours or more is reliable. Every confirmation carries a file the customer can add to their own calendar.

What your emails look like

Emails come from your store, led by your store name, and carry the booking details, any deposit still owed, the extras and the answers to your questions.

Text reminders with your own Twilio

  1. 1
    Open a Twilio account

Texts go through your own Twilio account, so Twilio bills you for each message. Sign up and get a phone number.

  2. 2
    Enter your details

On Pro, under Settings, turn on SMS reminders and enter your Twilio details. Your token is stored encrypted and never shown again.

  3. 3
    They send themselves

When a booking has a phone number and its reminder is due, Booker texts alongside the email.

Good to know

Do I need my own Twilio account?

Yes. Twilio bills you per message, and you are responsible for having permission to text your customers and for honouring STOP requests.

Why did a customer not get a text?

A text needs a phone number on the order. If your checkout did not collect one, no text is sent.
